Kino and Juana lived in a poor fishing village, and they had a baby boy named Coyotito. One day, Kino was looking for pearls in the sea to pay for Coyotito, who had been bitten by a large scorpion. He found an unprecedentedly large pearl. Fortunately, the future of the Kino family should have been bright. He went to a dealer in town to sell pearls, but he was told that it was too big and worthless, and he took it home again. On that night, someone sneaks into Kino's house for the pearl and stabs him to death at the end of the fight. This story seems to be happy and fortunate story at first glance, but it is not. On the contrary, all the bad things happen just as the pearls brought bad luck. I feel a little sad.
